How this site is funded
Plainly: Amazon commission, and nothing else. Here is exactly how that works and what it does not change.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
In plain words
Toolbox & Truck is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
When you click a buy link on this site and purchase something, we receive a percentage of the sale from Amazon. You pay exactly what you would have paid anyway — the commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not out of your pocket, and the price you see on Amazon is the price you pay.
That commission is the only way this site makes money. There is no advertising, no sponsored content, no newsletter sponsorship and no paid placement.
What the links look like
- Every buy link routes through our own
/go/path before going to Amazon. That is a redirect we control, which is how the tracking tag is applied in one place rather than being pasted into hundreds of pages. - Every commercial link carries
rel="sponsored nofollow", which is what search engines ask publishers to do with paid links. - Every buy button opens in a new tab, so you do not lose the page you were reading.
- Links to manufacturer specification sheets are not affiliate links. Those are citations and we earn nothing from them. They are not routed through
/go/.
What it does not change
- Commission rate is not a ranking input. We recommend the better product even when a worse one pays more. On a page where the cheaper option is the right answer, the cheaper option is at the top.
- Nobody buys a place on a list. No manufacturer or retailer can pay to appear here.
- We publish the downsides. Every product card carries a “who should skip it” paragraph and a list of what it does not fit, which is the opposite of what a commission-maximizing page would do.
- We tell you when not to buy at all. There are pages here that conclude the right answer is to spend nothing, and we have not removed them.
The full set of commitments is in our editorial policy.
About the prices
Every price on this site comes from the live Amazon catalog and carries the date it was checked — currently October 5, 2026. Prices and availability change constantly, and the price shown on Amazon at the time of purchase is the one that applies.
There is no mechanism on this site for displaying a price typed in by hand. If our price data is more than 48 hours old, every price disappears and the buttons fall back to “check price at Amazon”. How that works.
Other programs
At the time of writing, Amazon Associates is the only affiliate program this site participates in. If that changes, this page will be updated to name the additional programs before any link to them is published.
