Privacy policy

Toolbox & Truck is published by Iron Mako Media. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the site. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible, so if something here is unclear, email contact@toolboxandtruck.com and we will clarify it and fix the wording.

What we collect directly

Only what you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, your email address and your message. We use that to reply to you and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell or share contact details, and there is no newsletter to be subscribed to.

The contact form includes three anti-spam measures: a hidden field that real visitors never fill in, a timestamp recording when the page loaded, and a per-address submission limit. None of those collect anything about you beyond the submission itself.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which buy links are clicked. That involves Google setting cookies and receiving information about your visit, including your approximate location, your device and browser, the pages you view and the links you click. We use it in aggregate — to decide what to write next and to see which recommendations people find useful.

We do not attempt to identify individual visitors and we do not combine analytics data with anything you send us by email. You can block analytics with a browser setting, an extension or a tracking blocker, and the site works normally without it.

Affiliate links

Buy links on this site route through our own /go/ path and then on to Amazon with a tracking identifier attached. Amazon uses that to attribute a purchase to this site, and Amazon's own privacy practices apply from the moment you arrive there. We never see your payment details, your Amazon account or what you bought — we see only aggregate commission reporting.

Images and embedded content

Product photographs on this site are served from Amazon's own image servers, which is the compliant way to display them. That means your browser requests those images from Amazon and Amazon can see that request. There are no other third-party embeds: no social widgets, no comment system, no advertising network, no video embeds.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on infrastructure that keeps standard server logs, which typically include IP addresses and request details and are used for security and reliability rather than for profiling. We do not run our own additional logging on top of that.

Children

This site is about work truck equipment and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Your choices

• Block or clear cookies in your browser, which stops analytics working.
• Use a tracking blocker. The site is built to work without analytics and without affiliate tracking.
• Email contact@toolboxandtruck.com to ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to delete an email exchange.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the page will say what changed and when. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
