Ram 1500
Ram 1500 accessories: what fits and what does not
Two bed lengths, the widest wheel-well span of the four trucks here, and one factory option that changes the bed enough to need different parts entirely.

DECKED Drawer System — Ram 1500/2500/3500, 6'6" bed (Classic)
Tap any row for the full write-up. Prices come straight from Amazon and are never typed in by hand.
The Ram 1500 has the widest interior bed of the four trucks on this site — 51.0 inches between the wheelhouses — and the widest exterior rail width at about 66 inches. Both of those are advantages when you are buying gear.
It also has RamBox, and RamBox is the single biggest fitment variable on any truck covered here. The in-rail storage boxes occupy space inside the bed walls, which changes the usable width and the rail profile, and parts are listed as RamBox or non-RamBox rather than being adjustable between them.
The two numbers: exterior bed rail width about 66 inches, interior width between the wheelhouses 51.0 inches. The third thing you need is whether the truck has RamBox.

DECKED Drawer System — Ram 1500/2500/3500, 6'6" bed (Classic)
The Ram fitment. Worth calling out because Ram's RamBox option changes the usable bed width, and a drawer system that does not account for it will not drop in — check which bed you have before ordering.
Who should skip it. Not compatible with a RamBox bed. That is a genuinely different bed, not a trim difference.

What works
+Covers the long-serving Ram 6'6" bed
+Same sealed-drawer design as the rest of the range
Heavy-wall aluminum, a foam-filled RigidCore lid that does not flex when you sit on it, and a low profile that still clears most rear glass. This is the crossover to buy if you intend to keep the truck.
Who should skip it. Skip it on a 5'5" short bed. At 69 inches it will sit on the rails, but you lose a disproportionate share of a short bed and the money is better spent on a side-mount pair.

What works
+Foam-filled lid does not oil-can under body weight
+Low profile clears rear glass on most full-size crew cabs
+Heavy-wall extrusion survives being used as a step
+Gas struts are serviceable rather than sealed units
What does not
−Among the most expensive aluminum crossovers on the shelf
−69 in is a full-size length — not a mid-size answer
Laser-measured, high-wall liners for the Ram 1500 in a first and second row set. The reason WeatherTech still wins is the wall height at the door sill — that edge is what stops meltwater running onto the carpet instead of into the tray.
Who should skip it. They are the most expensive liners you can buy and the hard surface is noisier underfoot than a softer TPE mat.

What works

A vinyl roll-up with gear straps for the new-body Ram 1500 at a budget price. The straps matter more than they sound: they are what stops the rolled bundle flapping at highway speed.
Who should skip it. Low-profile flush fit means the rails have to be straight and undamaged. On a bed with a dented rail you will chase leaks.
The same 800 lb X31 with eight Z-clamps instead of drilled mounts. The clamps are why you buy this version: no holes in the bed rail, nothing to seal, and the whole rack comes off in twenty minutes.
Who should skip it. Clamps need sound rails with accessible lips. Some newer trucks have bonded rail caps that leave nothing to clamp to.

Tool boxes
At about 66 inches of exterior rail width, the Ram takes standard full-size crossover boxes comfortably — it is the widest of the four trucks here, so the 69 and 72 inch classes have the most margin on this truck.
The RamBox caveat applies: a RamBox bed's rail profile is interrupted by the storage box lids, and a crossover box's clamps need rail to grip. Check the box manufacturer's RamBox fitment note before ordering. The detail is in what size tool box fits a Ram 1500.
Bed storage
The Ram's 51.0 inch wheelhouse width is the most generous here, which means 48-inch slides and drawer modules fit with the most clearance of any of these trucks.
Drawer systems. Sold per bed length, and RamBox versus non-RamBox. See drawer systems.
Bed slides. 48 in fits 51.0 in comfortably. See bed slides.
Cargo bars. The Ram's maximum cargo width of 66.4 in means a 44-74 in bar is the right range. See bed dividers.
Anchors. RamBox beds have different anchor provision. Check before buying stake-pocket parts. See tie-downs.
Protection
The Ram has two model-year splits worth knowing about alongside RamBox: the 2019-onward new body style and the 2019-2024 Classic were sold together, exactly as on the Silverado, and they take different covers and liners.
Tonneau covers. New body, Classic and RamBox are three separate fitments. See tonneau covers.
Bed liners. RamBox beds need RamBox liners. See bed liners.
Mud flaps. With and without factory fender flares are different parts. See mud flaps.
Running boards. Cab-specific, and the Classic and new body differ. See running boards.
Racks
Clamp-on ladder racks suit a non-RamBox Ram well — the rail lip is accessible and the wide bed gives the clamps good purchase. On a RamBox truck the lids interrupt the rail and a clamp has far less to work with, which usually pushes you toward a bolted install or a headache-rack-based system.
Ram seat configurations include a bench with a fold-down center and a full console, and the seat cover pattern differs between them. Work truck seat covers sets out what to check.
Floor liners for the Ram are well served at every price point, and the Ram is the truck where the premium liners' higher sill wall is most visible in listings. See all-weather floor liners.
Fitment detail
Everything for this truck
The published dimensions, the tool box size that fits, and the roundup built around both.
A full-size crossover in the 69 or 72 inch class. The Ram's exterior bed rail width is about 66 inches — the widest of the four trucks here — so full-size boxes have the most margin on this truck. Check RamBox fitment separately. Full answer.
How wide is a Ram 1500 bed between the wheel wells?
51.0 inches on a non-RamBox bed, per Ram's published specifications, with a maximum cargo width of 66.4 in. That is the widest of the four trucks this site covers, so 48 in slides and drawer modules fit with good clearance.
Does RamBox change what accessories fit?
Substantially. The in-rail storage boxes occupy space inside the bed walls and interrupt the rail profile, which changes usable width and what a clamp has to grip. Parts are listed as RamBox or non-RamBox and are not interchangeable.
How long are the Ram 1500 beds at the floor?
67.4 inches for the 5'7" bed and 76.3 inches for the 6'4" bed, with cargo volumes of 53.8 and 61.5 cu ft respectively. Cargo box depth is 21.4 in and 21.5 in. Full table.
What is the difference between a Ram 1500 and a Ram 1500 Classic?
They are two different trucks sold alongside each other from 2019 — the new body style and the previous generation, badged Classic. They take different tonneau covers, liners and some racks. Check your badging before ordering bed hardware.
